PTSD, Mental Illness & EMDR Therapy Music & EMDR Guided Meditation
PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) The name is a very accurate definition of the disorder itself. It is a psychiatric disorder that happens occurs when your mind undergoes a traumatic event (or series of events). Unlike most survivors of a traumatic event, the incident damages a person’s psyche and their mind is unable to fully recover on its own. Of course, PTSD is not the only mental illness out there.
High anxiety, panic disorder, phobias, lack of motivation, depression, worry, obsessive negative thinking, continuous unpleasant feelings, mood swings, irritability, memories of a traumatic experience (PTSD), fear of being alone, unrealistic feelings of guilt and shame, difficulty in trusting others, relationship problems, chemical dependence, loss of loved one (by death or divorce), negativity or generally pessimistic nature; these are all illnesses that are being treated with EMDR therapy today.
EMDR/Bilateral Stimulation is a natural process where, the goal is to reduce the long-lasting effects of distressing memories and feelings by engaging the brain’s natural adaptive information processing mechanisms, thereby relieving present symptoms. EMDR therapy uses bilateral stimulation, right/left eye movement, or tactile stimulation, or sound, which repeatedly activates the opposite sides of the brain releasing emotional experiences that are “trapped” in the nervous system.
We have found that a patient can help themselves at home (between therapy appointments) by listening to music that incorporates (EMDR) bilateral stimulation and other healing music techniques. We have been making therapeutic music since 2007. Here you find our latest Music Therapy albums (download is instantaneously available after purchase).
